Malgré que la majorité de l’attention des partisans de la Ligue nationale de hockey est tournée vers les différentes rumeurs d’échange, les équipes de la LNH continuent de jouer des matchs.
En effet, il y en avait six hier. En voici un résumé.
1. Spencer Knight enregistre son premier jeu blanc en carrière dans une victoire de 3 à 0 face aux Ducks
Les Panthers de la Floride sont une des meilleures équipes de la Ligue nationale de hockey, et ils l’ont prouvé une nouvelle fois hier soir en dominant complètement les Ducks d’Anaheim.
Le match a fini 3 à 0 en faveur des Panthers, mais en regardant la colonne des tirs (42 à 17 pour les Panthers), on se rend compte que le pointage aurait pu être encore plus élevé.

Le jeune gardien de but Spencer Knight a donc ainsi enregistré son premier blanchissage en carrière en repoussant les 17 tirs dirigés vers lui.
Il n’a pas fait des miracles, mais ça reste une très belle réussite pour le jeune homme de 20 ans.
Dans la victoire, Joe Thornton a inscrit son 430e en carrière.
Deux exploits de deux générations très éloignées ont donc été réalisés hier soir.

Mauvaise nouvelle toutefois pour les Panthers, Aaron Ekblad a quitté le match après s’être vraisemblablement blessé à la jambe droite. Il est sorti de la glace en ne mettant aucun poids sur sa jambe.
C’est assez inquiétant considérant l’horrible blessure qu’Ekblad avait subie la saison dernière.

2. Jacob Markstrom offre la victoire aux Sabres de Buffalo en prolongation
Il est assez rare au hockey qu’un match se termine par la marque de 1 à 0. Eh bien ce fut le cas hier soir dans un match entre les Sabres de Buffalo et les Flames de Calgary.
On a dû attendre à la prolongation avant de voir le premier et dernier but de la rencontre.
Un but qui fait vraiment très mal paraître le gardien des Flames, Jacob Markstrom.

Les Flames demeurent toutefois encore très bien installés au premier rang de la section pacifique dans l’Ouest.
3. Cale Makar inscrit son 22e but de la saison, et l’Avalanche tient bon face aux Sharks
Une saison impressionnante en termes de buts pour un défenseur est généralement une saison de 15-20 buts, et cela n’arrive pas si souvent.
Eh bien, voilà qu’après 62 matchs, le défenseur Cale Makar est déjà rendu à 22 buts.
Tout simplement phénoménal.
Il a inscrit ce but dans une victoire de 5 à 3 de l’Avalanche du Colorado face aux Sharks de San Jose.
L’Avalanche a failli se faire jouer un vilain tour alors qu’elle menait 4 à 0 avant de voir les Sharks revenir à un but d’écart.

4. Alexander Ovechkin donne la victoire aux Capitals en fusillades face aux Hurricanes
Étant donné que les huit équipes participant aux séries éliminatoires dans la conférence de l’Est sont déjà pratiquement toutes qualifiées, ces équipes se battent uniquement pour obtenir un adversaire plus facile en première ronde.
Nous avions donc droit hier à un très gros match entre deux bonnes équipes de la section métropolitaine, c’est-à-dire les Hurricanes de la Caroline et les Capitals de Washington.
Eh bien, ce match n’a clairement pas déçu. Le match s’est rendu jusqu’en tirs de barrage, là où Alex Ovechkin a été l’unique marqueur afin de donner la victoire aux Capitals.
