Dylan Larkin: Kris Draper is starting to look at teams other than the Habs

As we know, the Dylan Larkin situation has been the talk of the NHL. The Red Wings forward is really fed up with his situation, and it seems the Red Wings are just as fed up on their end.

It's high time this issue was resolved.

It's interesting to note that over the past few weeks, Kris Draper has frequently been seen attending Canadiens games. One might assume that the Red Wings' assistant general manager was there in connection with the Larkin situation, in the event that Larkin eventually agreed to be traded to the Canadiens.

But tonight, we see that Draper is attending a game… that doesn't involve the Canadiens. Instead, he's on the Toronto side, where the Maple Leafs and the Mammoth are facing off tonight, alongside Bryan Campbell, the Red Wings' Director of Statistical Analysis.

And it's worth noting that the Mammoth is on Larkin's list (though the Maple Leafs aren't, obviously).

Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that Larkin will join the Mammoth tomorrow morning. That said, given Larkin's refusal to add teams (such as the Habs) to his list, it's reasonable to assume the Wings are evaluating their other options.

Another possibility is that all of this is actually related to the Simon Edvinsson situation, as he, too, could be traded soon. The Leafs, just like the Canadiens, are among the teams linked to the defenseman by The Fourth Period.

It will be interesting to see if Draper—who hasn't been seen much at games not involving the Habs since the start of the season—will make an appearance elsewhere in the coming days.

If he starts following the Mammoth in the coming days, it could provide a clue as to how things will unfold in the Larkin situation…

In Brief
