Dan Milstein denies Martin McGuire’s claims

Last night, Martin McGuire shared some very interesting information with us about the relationship between Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman.

According to him, this relationship appears to be toxic, and my colleague Charles-Alexis Brisebois summarized it this morning.

This relationship shouldn't hold the Habs back.

But don't forget that Nikita Kucherov's agent is Dan Milstein, and he'll deny everything he can.

In response to McGuire's report, he stated on his X account that it was false.

Obviously, we have to take his responses with a grain of salt, since he certainly isn't going to admit that his client doesn't get along with another team leader.

After all, he's going to defend his client's interests. But he could have chosen not to respond at all, even though he was mentioned in a comment…

The agent, who has been consistently commenting on the case of Kirill Marchenko—another of his clients—has been active on social media lately. Earlier today, he posted a rather sarcastic comment in support of Kucherov. He also denied several rumors and, of course, sang his client's praises.

It seems to me that's the kind of agent we want, right? Pat Brisson, like all agents, does pretty much the same thing with Dylan Larkin, except that his comments are rarely made public.

We've known from the start that the Habs will have their nose in the Kucherov file right up until the very end. According to Frankie Corrado (TSN 690), Montreal and Utah are said to be the best destinations for the Russian.

But we have to keep an eye on the Canes, whose owner is reportedly salivating at the thought of having him on his team.

In a Nutshell

– In French.

– Hockey Canada's statement regarding Mark Carney's latest comments.

– That's right.

– Good question.

– That rules out some possibilities.
